Best of the East Side
Great pizza! I have been to Italy and eaten pizza there...I've been around the country and eaten pizza at various establishments. For the price, this joint is a no-brainer. The dough they make creates a tasty crust that is out of this world. The toppings are fresh-cut, the sauce is not overwhelming, yet still present and tangy. They have a real brick-oven (which I have seen) and the pizza shows that. I just ordered the "Chef Mistake" and asked for an extra side of sauce. I was told 40-45 minutes, and it was right on. I opened the box and "suprise" my extra sauce was there! This is one of those places you'd dismiss -- but do not miss this place! If you live on the East Side of town and want a great pizza made with care, do yourself the favor and order from these guys -- they know their pizza!
Amazingly good
There are a lot of little pizza joints scattered around towns with basically the same menus as everyone else, and the food quality is never very high. We were expecting the same when we ordered from Palermo, but figured we'd give it a shot because there isn't much good take out on Muldoon road in Anchorage. Boy, were we glad we tried them. You can tell the food is made by someone who actually cares, and not someone whose just in it for the money. We've ordered from Palermo about 7 times now, and I have not once been disappointed. We've tried four pizzas, and they were all excellent, especially the gyro pizza. The burgers are TREMENDOUS, seriously...You can tell that the patties are hand made because they fit the buns akwardly and aren't that normal uniform round like you get from premade Costco burger rolls...The buns and everything on them were wonderful. I've had the philly and my wife loves the strombolis, which she eats the next day as well ...
