big menu, bad pizza
Tons of choices on their menu. I ordered a pizza and the pokey stix (cheese sticks). Neither one of them seemed cooked long enough. The cheese was cheap and tasteless and I could only stomach one piece of the pizza. One of the worst pizzas that I have had in G;ville. For delivery, Papa Johns, Pizza Hut, and even 5 Star are better. The previous reviews must be from owners/managers.
A Welcomed Vast Improvement!
As a Gainesville resident I have been ordering from this location for years. It is important to keep in mind that the staff of most every restaurant in town will get an overhaul pretty much every semester. For this reason I was willing to try Gumbys again regardless of several unbelievably bad experiences I had had with them in the past. Those experiences were so bad that I took them off my "I am waaaay too tired to cook" delivery list. That list is very well worn from much use. I can now say that I am glad I gave them a call and my money. The recent deliveries have come within reasonable time frames and the sandwiches were perfect, if I do say so myself. It seems that the new staff actually reads the order before preparing it. The change in staff has improved not only in their food and service, but also in the management who, in the past, made it crystal clear that you were dealing with inexperienced yet unjustifiably arrogant teenagers with an obvious deficit in integrity. ...
Go for the Pokey Sticks!!
